Welcome
Welcome to our home and B & B. Named by local residents when the logs started arriving on site in 2006; it reminded them of the ranch in the old television show “Bonanza”. Visitors are surprised to learn that the house was handcrafted by Nova Scotia craftsmen using Nova Scotia white and red pine logs, some 45 feet long and 18” in diameter. We are located between Sydney and North Sydney on route 239; only 10 minutes from either location and a short drive to Louisbourg, the Miner’s Museum and the Highland Village.
We have two rooms in our house, each with a queen bed and three piece ensuite bath. These rooms share a common loft area with a fridge, satellite TV, cribbage table and vintage Ms Pac Man machine to name a few items. The larger of the two rooms easily accommodates a single roll-a-way bed. Our Coach House features private access with an elevated deck, a queen bed, 3 piece ensuite bath, and a sitting room with a sofa bed, fridge, microwave and TV. Wireless internet is available in all rooms. Connie’s breakfasts are raved about and no one goes away hungry.
We are a member of the Travel Industry Association of Nova Scotia (TIANS) as well as the Nova Scotia Bed & Breakfast Association (NSBBA) and we are a Nova Scotia Approved, Quality First Accommodation.
In addition, ALL of our bed linens are changed with fresh linens with every change of guests, including pillow and mattress protectors, sheets and pillow cases, blankets and bedspreads.
Please note that we have a dog in the house. Her name is Pearl, she is a German Shepherd and is friendly. She is never in the house during meals and never goes near our B & B rooms as she will not go up stairs. You can see her pic in the Photo Gallery and read what some guests say in the Testimonial section.
We look forward to welcoming you.
